Hello East Coast, it’s the Sleepys.
We are currently writing you from Anaheim, California. Since we had to write
two blogs in one night, the staff gave us a special treat. They graciously gave
us their leftovers of cake and spaghetti with a giant meatball. Unfortunately,
silverware was not included. We are surprisingly having a great time blogging
despite the tiring, yet magical, day at Disney.
Today we awoke to Josh dragging
around a speaker playing classic Disney songs. As happy and energetic that made
us, at 6:00 in the morning, we were kind of slow getting ready, so we have to
wake up early tomorrow. After packing up, we made our way to the park with a
traveling breakfast of bagels and cream cheese.
When we arrived we all headed towards
the first ride of the day, Indiana Jones! The boulder traveling at us definitely woke
us all up. Next, we went to Hyper Space Mountain. This ride was actually a
first time roller coaster ride for some of our campers, experiencing Americas
beauty isn’t the only firsts we have on this trip! And for our last ride
together we all spent our time competing against Josh in a Buzz Lightyear game.
He promised the person who scored higher than he did, they’d get a prize… no
prizes were bought this trip, maybe next year. Finally, we went our separate
ways.
Different groups
spent their time meeting their favorite Disney characters, riding all the
rides, and taking food breaks outside of the park due to the crazy high prices.
Campers ate at restaurants such as iHop, Panera Bread, McDonalds and In-N-Out.
A lot of our group members bought “TWB ’19” bracelets. Such cute souvenirs that
will last a life time, if it’s not lost on the trip. LOL. Many
campers felt like a kid again as they spent the entire day in Disneyland. $27 ears were available for purchase (sorry
parents) as well as collectible pins that many of us took advantage of. A lot of Disney merchandise will be heading
home with the TWB participants, so be prepared.
All of us
are super psyched to be heading to Hollywood tomorrow morning to pull the
traditional TWB prank of pretending our counselors are superstars (although
they truly are) and getting everyone on the boulevard to be excited about
meeting these celebrities. Sleepys are
getting a bit sleepy, so we’re out for the night!
